Ascitic Tapping
A procedure where a needle is used to drain fluid trapped in an internal body cavity, most commonly the abdomen.
Endoscopic Colonoscopy
A procedure to examine the inside of your large intestine to diagnose, treat, and help prevent conditions like inflammatory bowel disease and colon cancer.
Endoscopic Biopsy
A procedure performed during endoscopy or colonoscopy to collect tissue samples to diagnose conditions like ulcers, cancers, and infections.
Endoscopic Variceal Ligation
This procedure involves placing rubber bands around enlarged oesophageal veins (varices) to control or prevent gastrointestinal bleeding.
Endoscopic Sclerotherapy
A procedure to stop active gastrointestinal bleeding that involves injecting a sclerosing agent into or around bleeding varices or ulcers.
Helicobacter Pylori Testing
A test conducted to detect infection by Helicobacter pylori, a common cause of gastritis and peptic ulcers, either during endoscopy or via slide-based methods.
Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy (PEG)
A PEG procedure involves placing a feeding tube directly into the stomach of patients who cannot consume food orally over the long term.
